Install Quietly like an app
Quietly works in your web browser, so there’s nothing to download from an app store. Add it to your home screen or dock and it opens in its own window, just like any other app. It takes about thirty seconds.
iPhone and iPad
Use Safari for this: it’s the browser with the blue compass icon.
Open Quietly in Safari
On your iPhone or iPad, open Safari and go to quietlymanage.web.app.
Tap the Share button
It’s the square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen on iPhone, or the top on iPad.
Choose “Add to Home Screen”
Scroll down the list if you need to, tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
On newer iPhones you may see Open as Web App switched on when you add it. Leave it on.
Android phone or tablet
Use Chrome, the browser that comes with most Android phones.
Open Quietly in Chrome
On your Android phone or tablet, open Chrome and go to quietlymanage.web.app.
Tap the menu
Tap the three dots in the top corner.
Choose “Install app”
Tap Install app (on some phones it says Add to Home screen), then Install.
Mac or Windows computer (Chrome or Edge)
Works the same way in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
Open Quietly in Chrome or Edge
Go to quietlymanage.web.app on your Mac or Windows computer.
Click the install icon
In the address bar, click the small install icon (a screen with a down arrow). In Chrome you can also use the menu → Cast, save and share → Install page as app.
Click “Install”
Quietly opens in its own window, and you’ll find it with your other apps.
Mac with Safari
If you use Safari on a Mac, you can add Quietly to your Dock.
Open Quietly in Safari
On your Mac, open Safari and go to quietlymanage.web.app.
Open the File menu
In the menu bar at the very top of your screen, click File.
Choose “Add to Dock”
Click Add to Dock, then Add. Quietly sits in your Dock like any other app.
Don’t see Add to Dock? It needs a recent version of macOS. Chrome or Edge works on any Mac.
Signed in on more than one device? Each one keeps in step with the others. The first time you open Quietly on a new device, you’ll unlock it with your passphrase.
